Shawn Desman
With a platinum debut album, a sophomore Juno Award winning album for Best R&B/Soul Recording, chart-topping singles & videos, movie roles and international accolades under his belt, singer/dancer/songwriter/producer Shawn Desman is poised to launch his highly anticipated fourth album in 2013 accompanied by a national concert tour.
From the moment he released his self-titled debut CD in the fall of 2002, Shawn Desman has enjoyed phenomenal success. His album spent an incredible 49 weeks on the SoundScan Top 200 sales chart and produced two Top 10 singles and two #1 videos.
With Desman’s release of his sophomore album “Back for More” Desman produced a #1 hit single; three Top 10 hit singles, and was presented with a Juno Award for Best R&B/Soul Recording.
His most recent project, after a five-year hiatus was his highly anticipated third album “FRESH”. His first single “Shiver,” reached Gold status while the video was nominated for a MMVA. The second and third releases off the album “Night Like This” and “Electric” reached Platinum status and demonstrated his return to his dance roots through the production of the accompanying music videos. The video for “Night Like This” reached #1 on both the MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic Charts consecutively as well as garnering MMVA for Video of the Year.
Hot on the heels of his FRESH album Desman is poised to release his fourth studio album “ALIVE” in a way no other artist has before. His new album will launch in conjunction with a movie set to the music of his new release. The movie will air on MuchMusic starring Shawn Desman, Heartland’s Kaitlyn Leeb, and Degrassi’s Melinda Shankar and will provide audiences with a brand new way to experience music, visual, and celebrity content. Gold selling chart topping single “Nobody Does It Like You” and “Dum Da Dum” were launched this fall to great reviews as Desman continues to shape the music and dance scene.
